PROJECTS
King Street Station
Of primary importance to the life and growth of the city of Seattle was the creation in 1906 of King Street Station. Supporting the Great Northern and the Northern Pacific railroads, its classical design featured a grand interior with high ceilings and ornate detail, an expansive stone-cobbled front drive, and a much-celebrated clock tower which overlooked the city. With this structure, the architects established not only a space for loading and unloading passengers and cargo, but a symbol of Seattleās emerging importance in the west as it proudly welcomed the further growth of the area.
