S.S. Virginia V
Puget Sound Passenger Ferry
Built in 1922, the S.S. Virginia V was originally part of a large fleet of Puget Sound ferries known to the locals as the “Mosquito Fleet.” Throughout WWII, long after the others of her kind were scrapped, the “Five” continued to serve this purpose. Later, in the 1950’s, she was preserved by sentimental seagoers as a favorite excursion and charter vessel and since then has remained in almost continuous operation
